In our "Street Outreach Program" we look after socially disadvantaged children and their families who work or live in the streets. The income of these families usually is restricted to the selling of food in the streets of Quito. The parents have to spend most of their time selling products and as a consequence can give their children only little attention. In our project we want to give these children the care and attention they need, we want to give them space to play, express themselves and we encourage them to develop to the full. Our activities with the children include playing games, painting, teaching moral values and medical support and education.
Furthermore, we get into contact and communicate with the parents of these children and inform them about the rights of their children and their obligations as parents. Through this, we hope to establish a better relationship and a basis of communication between the parents and their children.
